Step into a time of quiet in the forest in which the last vestiges of autumn life are rich with the contrasts of shimmering leaves of yellow and autumn orange, and the first blanket of snow is gently placed atop green grasses about to fold into dormancy.
ETHEREAL reduces the abundant complexity of the forest to an intimate scene of abstraction, facilitating our ability to focus on and become aware of the transitory beauty inherent in the tiny and often overlooked details of the woods.
The images have been printed on both a textured art paper and backlit thru Japanese rice paper to enhance the feeling of luminosity and the preciousness of time inherent in Nature’s cycles.
Thru this choice of medium the viewer is drawn into the scenes and a sense of the luminosity of the forest is evoked.
As “Forest Bathing” has become a popular phenomenon, this Show integrates well with the practice and its intention is to open those intrigued by it to an artistic and complimentary expression of the experience of forest bathing.
